LACIS Professor Michael W. Apple Awarded Doctorate Honoris Causa by the University of Buenos Aires

LACIS Professor, Michael W. Apple, John Bascom Professor of Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Policy Studies, was awarded a Doctorate Honorus Causa by the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) for his dissertation on the progress of neoliberalism on public education. The distinction was delivered to Professor Apple by the UBA Dean of Liberal Arts, Graciela Morgade.

Professor Apple has received several honorary degrees but said that this honorary degree is from University of Buenos Aires has been the most important because it took for his work as an educator and pedagogue.

Professor Apple’s research focuses on the links between education, government and culture, and looks at the possibilities of progressive pedagogical practice.
